Nurturing Childcare in the Heart of The Community
Hi, I'm Roopam. I'm the Owner and Manager of Beeston Nursery.
I have always wanted to have my own nursery. I have worked as a Nursery Teacher in the UK and abroad, as a Primary Teacher in West Yorkshire, and as a senior manager in the NHS for a number of years.
I am a qualified Primary Teacher, with Qualified Teacher Status, and also have a host of management qualifications including a Masters in Business Administration from Nottingham University Business School.
I am extremely proud of Beeston Nursery. We are coming up to our 5th anniversary soon, and it is so lovely that we are an active part of the local Beeston Community.
I have a fabulous staff team who are extremely dedicated, passionate about childcare and above all, caring and loving. We always get amazing feedback from our parents and families about how friendly and approachable they are. Take a look at our testimonials page, and our facebook page :)
As well as running the nursery, I am pleased to be involved in lots of local, national and international projects and work:
I have written a children's book, "Sammy The Snail". It's not for sale in the UK, but I occasionally give away copies ;) . It is available in India, where it has been published by The National Book Trust, as part of a campaign to improve literacy rates in public schools.
I help other nurseries around the UK with various aspects of Management and Leadership. I have developed software and Apps that help us to spend more time with the children, rather than spending time on administration, and I'm getting a great response to those.
I am the Vice Chair of the Nottinghamshire National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) Network.
I have a blog, about Nursery Leadership and Management, because I believe that the staff team are the most vital thing in a nursery.
My team are really well trained, dedicated and happy.
Our latest staff survey showed that:
100% of the team Strongly Agree or Agree with the following statements:
My work is interesting and varied
My work gives me a sense of achievement
I am proud of what I do
I feel involved in decisions that affect my work
I have control over how I do my job
I am happy in my job
I would recommend this organisation as a great place to work
I would recommend this place to a friend/relative looking for childcare
This is what you want from the team who you trust to look after your children :)
